LayIt Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
LayIt is built by Robbie Sims, a software project of Simco LLC. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.
Data We Collect Or Process
- Tile box photos: Used to extract tile specifications. Photos may be sent through our Cloudflare Worker proxy to Anthropic for AI analysis. We do not store these photos on our server after processing.
- Workspace photos: Used for client reports and future room measurement features. These photos are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
- Project data: Tile configurations, room dimensions, colors, project names, and settings are stored locally on your device.
- Crowdsourced tile data: If you submit a tile that is not in the database, tile specifications and the optional box label photo may be stored to improve tile identification for users. No personal account is attached.
- Feedback and waitlist entries: If you send feedback or join a waitlist, the information you provide may be stored so we can respond or improve the product.
Cloud Sync
Cloud Sync is not active in this release. If cloud sync is added later, the app and this policy will be updated before project data is synced between devices.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not require a user account in this release.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not serve ads.
- We do not sell personal data.
Third-Party Services
- Anthropic: Used for AI tile label reading.
- Cloudflare Workers: Used to proxy AI requests without placing the AI API key in the app.
- Firebase/Google: Used for tile database features, feedback/waitlist entries, and future optional sync paths.
- Apple StoreKit: Used for subscription purchases and restore purchases.
Data Retention
- Local project data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or clear app data.
- Crowdsourced tile data may be retained to improve the shared tile database.
- Feedback and waitlist entries may be retained while needed for product support and communication.
Children's Privacy
LayIt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
